Diagnostic Ultrasound CEO and BladderScan Inventor Gerald McMorrow Wins Pacific Northwest Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award for Health Services

Bothell , Wash., June 26, 2006 – Diagnostic Ultrasound is pleased to announce that Gerald McMorrow, Founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board, has been named winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2006 Award in the Pacific Northwest for the Health Services category. Mr. McMorrow was selected from nominations by a panel of independent judges. According to Ernst & Young, the awards program was designed to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs on a regional, national and global level who are building and leading dynamic and growing businesses.  The award was announced at a special 20th anniversary gala even on June 23, 2006 at the Westin Bellevue.

"I am honored to receive this Entrepreneur of the Year award, and I would like to thank my wife and family for their patience and support during the lean years," said McMorrow. "I'd also like to thank the investors who have trusted us, the many excellent employees who have shared the workload, and our wonderful customers for allowing us to help them provide better health care for their patients."

The Entrepreneur of the Year program celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Awards were presented to entrepreneurs who demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as vision, leadership, achievement and social responsibility.

McMorrow, a Vietnam veteran, founded Diagnostic Ultrasound in 1984 with the vision to fill unmet needs in healthcare - specifically by developing noninvasive, easy to use ultrasound medical devices. The BladderScan brand, a line of bladder volume measurement instruments, has fueled the growth of the company from a small start-up to a profitable international corporation. Noninvasive and easy to use, BladderScan prevents unnecessary urinary catheterizations, reduces rates of urinary tract infection, and helps diagnose urinary-related problems such as enlarged prostate (BPH). Now a standard of care, the BladderScan is used in Urology, Acute Care, Primary Care, and Extended Care.

McMorrow recently expanded the company's product portfolio with the acquisition of Saturn Biomedical Systems and the GlideScope Video Laryngoscope brand in January 2006. GlideScope provides a consistently clear view of the airway, enabling quick intubation, and offers significant benefits to Anesthesiology, Surgery, and Emergency Medicine markets.

McMorrow, an electrical engineer with 12 patents to his credit, continues to invent new products for the company while leading its worldwide growth.

As a regional award winner, McMorrow is eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2006 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs California on November 18, 2006. The overall national Entrepreneur Of The Year award recipient is then considered for the world event held in Monte Carlo.
